Updates

Builds are published on GitHub Releases; the release notes are also on tailride.so/desktop/changelog.

Installer builds (macOS, Windows installer)

The app checks for a new version in the background and downloads it. When one is ready, a Restart to update prompt appears; the update is installed on restart. Settings → Updates has Check for updates and a switch to turn automatic updates off. The What's new card in Settings shows the notes of the installed version.

Windows portable build

The portable build never downloads or installs an update on its own — it must not silently turn a portable copy into an installed one. Check for updates only looks at the release feed and offers the release page to download the new .exe from. Replace the file next to your Tailride Data folder to update.
