Schedule and background collection

Schedule

Settings → Schedule sets when collection runs: hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or Off to collect only by hand, at the time (and day) you choose. A fresh install starts with a weekly run; change it whenever you like. Each supplier can also have its own schedule.

The app runs from the menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows) and starts at login when Start at login is on. Closing the main window does not quit the app.

After sleep

A run that fell into a period when the machine was asleep or off is caught up the next time the app is running. Nothing is skipped silently.

What a run does

For each supplier, in turn: open the portal in the hidden browser with that profile's session, sign in if needed, walk the invoice list from the start date, download every invoice not seen before, upload it to Tailride and save a local copy. Proton Mail sources have their own schedule, separate from portal collection.

The first run of a supplier walks its invoice list all the way back to the start date. Once a run has finished successfully, later runs only look back 3 days before that run: invoices are usually published a little after the date printed on them, and the overlap catches those without re-reading older history every time. Shops that ship physical goods (Amazon, AliExpress, eBay) look back 45 days, because they issue the invoice when the order ships, often weeks after the order date. An invoice that appears more than a few days after its date is only found by collecting everything again. The start date stays a floor — nothing older than it is ever collected — and a failed, cancelled or sign-in-only run never moves the window forward. To go through everything again, open the supplier's account options and use Collect everything again.

Notifications

Native notifications tell you when:

• a portal needs you to sign in again,
• a run finished, with how many invoices were collected,
• an upload failed, with the server's message,
• your credits ran out (the run stops and resumes once credits are added).

Watching or stopping a run

The tray menu and the dashboard show the active run and let you stop it. Settings → Advanced → Show browser window makes the hidden browser visible while a run is in progress.
