TailrideSign in
How the desktop app signs in through your browser, what a device token is, and how to sign out.
The app never asks for your Tailride password. Sign-in runs in your own browser:
- Tailride Desktop opens
tailride.so/loginin your default browser. - After you sign in, the browser hands a one-time code back to the app on your machine.
- The app exchanges the code for a device token and stores it encrypted with the operating system (Keychain on macOS, DPAPI on Windows).
The device token is what the app uses from then on. You can see and revoke every device under Dashboard → Settings → Security on tailride.so.
Sign in in a window instead
If the browser hand-off does not work — for example on a locked-down machine — choose Sign in in a window instead on the sign-in screen. The app then shows the login page in its own window.
Signing out
Settings → Sign out revokes the device token on the server and removes it from this machine. Portal logins in the vault are kept unless you also delete the app's data (see Data and privacy).
First-run setup
After the first sign-in a three-step setup:
- confirms the collection schedule (hourly to quarterly; weekly to start with),
- asks for the start date — the oldest invoice date to collect,
- opens the supplier list with the Add supplier dialog ready.
