Dashboard overview
Navigate the Tailride dashboard, manage invoice sources, and find each workspace feature.
The dashboard is the main workspace for collecting, reviewing, reconciling, and exporting invoices. Its tabs keep everyday invoice work separate from historical scans, bank statements, integrations, reporting, and configuration.
Business and accountant dashboards
This page describes the dashboard for a business workspace. Accountant accounts open a separate firm dashboard with sections for the firm overview, clients, team, plans, credit top-ups, and profile. An accountant can open a client's business dashboard from the client list.
Accessing the dashboard
- Open the Tailride login page.
- Sign in with Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, or your email address and password.
- After authentication and plan setup, Tailride opens
/dashboard. If your account setup is incomplete, you may be redirected to choose a plan first.
Signing in and connecting an invoice source are related but separate actions. A social sign-in can also authorize the corresponding mailbox when mail access is granted. Email-and-password sign-in does not connect a mailbox, so add a source from the Dashboard tab if the source list is empty.
Free plan
The current free business plan includes 10 invoice-processing credits per month and up to 2 connected email accounts. Successfully processed invoices consume credits regardless of whether they came from an inbox, an upload, or another source.
Dashboard tab
The default Dashboard tab contains two main areas:
- Email Sources: Lists connected Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, shared Microsoft, and IMAP mailboxes with their latest fetch time. Select a source to filter the invoice list, or use Add source to connect another mailbox.
- Invoice list: Shows all processed invoices and excluded documents, not only recent invoices. From here you can search, filter, sort, preview, edit, tag, share, download, export, or delete documents. See Invoices for the complete list of controls.
On larger screens, use the expand control to give the invoice table the full dashboard width. On smaller screens, the source list is collapsible and the tab bar scrolls horizontally.
Uploading invoices
Use the Upload button or drag files anywhere over the Dashboard tab. A single batch can contain up to 100 PDF, JPG, or PNG files. Images are converted to PDF before processing.
Drag-and-drop is active only on the default Dashboard tab. If you are in another section, return to Dashboard before dropping files.
Notices and recovery actions
The dashboard can display action banners above the tabs when attention is required. Depending on your workspace, these may include:
- a link to resume or review onboarding;
- a prompt to reconnect an email source;
- a prompt to reconnect a storage or accounting integration;
- an out-of-credits warning with options to buy credits or change plan;
- a connected-account limit warning.
Other dashboard tabs
Retroactive
Search selected mailboxes over a chosen historical period, monitor scan status and credit usage, and review scan history. Selecting a scan filters the invoice list on the Dashboard tab.
Statements
Upload PDF or CSV bank statements, review outgoing transactions, and match them automatically or manually to processed invoices.
Integrations
Connect storage, spreadsheets, accounting platforms, forwarding channels, and messaging integrations, and manage their connection settings.
Insights
Analyze invoice spending, vendors, tags, and recurring subscriptions using the workspace's main currency and amount-format settings.
Settings
Configure general display options, filenames, sources and team access, rules, accounting coding, suppliers, cost tracking, notifications, and webhooks.
Historical scans are user-controlled
Connecting a source does not automatically start the former fixed 90-day historical scan. Choose a period during onboarding or use Retroactive whenever you want Tailride to search older messages. Regular scheduled scans continue to collect new invoices from active sources.
Permissions and account controls
The available tabs and actions depend on your role:
- Workspace owners have access to the complete business dashboard.
- A connected team member sees Settings only when billing access has been granted. Some sensitive settings, such as webhooks and account deletion, remain owner-only.
- Accountants viewing a client can return to their firm dashboard from the account menu.
- Subscription and payment management is opened from the account menu or an upgrade notice; it is not a separate section inside the Settings tab.
Your selected tab is reflected in the dashboard URL, so reloading or sharing a URL such as /dashboard?tab=statements returns to that section. The default Dashboard tab uses /dashboard without a tab parameter.
